Nike Factory Outlet
Store
Portland, OR
Nike Inc. was looking for a dramatic
building to house its new factory outlet store in Portland, Oregon. The
brick, metal panels and glass provide an exterior drama, especially at
night, when the glass façade acts as a beacon for pedestrians. This was
the company's second stand-alone factory store and will serve as the model
for future factory stores. The structure has a tapered building section,
which allows for large storage space, and presents a lower, friendlier
street frontage. This arrangement provides a lively shopping environment
